Priyanka Kalita, Winner Of Fashion Fables 2.0; Bagged A Chance To Design A Special Fashion Collection For Marie Clarie

New Delhi, January 20, 2018: The search for the most talented fashion designers and stylists in the country just got more promising this year with Roposo’s Fashion Fables 2.0. The fashion expedition witnessed some of the most creative budding designers showcasing their alluring creations and unique designs. The nationwide hunt for next-gen fashion designers that began on August 11, 2017 came to a close on January 18, 2018 in Mumbai. The grand jury comprising Sharad Raghav, Sonia Verma and Bhavika Bokadia chose Priyanka Kalita as the winner of the contest. Organised in association with Marie Claire, a lifestyle brand, the winner of the contest has bagged a chance to design a special fashion collection for the brand, an internship opportunity with the brand, design credits on the website/social media by the team and INR 50K worth of goodies from both the brands, besides a photo shoot with a professional photographer.

For this extravagant nationwide hunt for next-gen fashion designers, Roposo received 1,800 entries with an active participation from more than 800 aspiring designers and stylists. The competition comprised three rounds – design portfolio, digital illustrations, and garment construction. The first round – Design Portfolio – was open to all design students from across the country for a month. This was an online round where participants were required to upload their sketches, garments and mood boards, of which the best 15 made it to the second round. The shortlisted candidates from round one had to submit their design illustrations on any digital software as per the brand brief. Marie Claire had given themes according to which the contestants had to come up with captivating designs. Five contestants made it to round three – Garment Construction – where they were asked to construct three garments as per the brand’s guidelines from the designs created in the second round.

Commenting on the contest, Mayank Bhangadia, Co-founder and CEO, Roposo said, “After the amazing response we received for Fashion Fables Season 1, we decided to come up with a bigger and better second edition of the contest. This year, more participation and better designs made way into the contest. Each contestant competing for FF 2.0 was brilliant with all the designs being extremely high on style and glamour. The jury selected the winning entries based on their creativity and innovation, uniqueness in terms of design, adaptability to the brand brief and overall visual appeal. We will continue to come up with more such contests and campaigns, and encourage young and emerging designers to excel in their careers.”

On winning Fashion Fables 2.0, an overjoyed Priyanka Kalita said, “I would like to thank Roposo for coming up with the second edition of Fashion Fables. This is a great platform for aspiring designers like me to showcase our skills in front of some of the best designers in the country and receive inspiration and mentorship. Thanks to this fabulous initiative, I am now looking forward to my internship with Marie Claire and honing my skills.”
