The evening witnessed a unique fashion presentation with the models showcasing exquisite creations by the label Ruceru. The beautiful evening witnessed an array of celebrities, stylists, bloggers and socialites. The collection was inspired by legendary Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless Bengali dance drama “Chitrangada”.

Ruceru’s collection ‘Chitrangada’ was expressing femininity and warrior self of a woman. Few pieces had higher notes of femininity and a few had the warrior feel more. For theShowstopper Bipasha Basu, the outfits was perfect balance of femininity and warrior self of a woman. Hence the strong crimson veil and a wrap up tied blouse were teamed up with oyster pink silk floss tassel lehenga. The outfit was Fragile and delicate and strong and powerful at the same time in its approach. The red veil signifies the warrior being of Chitrangada and how she conquers her own perception of love and dignity. On the contrary the soft silk floss lehenga was the symbol for her soft delicate side where she wanted to become someone whom she is not. So it was a nice amalgamation of all these emotions that Chitrangada went through and how her journey evolved from one entity to the other.

Designer-Sister Duo of Label Ruceru – Ruchi Roongta and Rashi Agarwal has always poured emphasis on women empowerment and the sense of an unapologetic self. Hence they got really inspired by legendary Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless Bengali dance drama “Chitrangada”. How Rabindranath Tagore envisions “Princess Chitrangada” like any other woman, who would desire to be equal to the man of her choice while retaining her true identity. She therefore becomes an example for the woman of substance, who believes in her independence and freedom of expression.

To conclude, Inspired by Rabindranath’s vision and sensitivity to portray women, Label Ruceru with this collection celebrate the basic joy of having equal rights and freedom of expression, unburdened with the innumerable expectations and norms of the society.
