Mumbai, August 2018: Prachi Desai turned showstopper for Julie by Julie Shah at Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2018. The Mumbai based designer showcased her new winter festive collection ‘ABJINI’ on the last day of the fashion extravaganza.
‘ABJINI’ signifies a multitude of lotuses. The theme was deeply inspired by beautiful vintage book covers in pretty pastels and delicate detailing. The collection was characterized by the fine pastels with opulent handcrafted lotus motif. Every creation in the collection resonates with the free spirited young girls of today.
The collection ‘ABJINI’ essayed Julie’s interpretation of the vintage design aesthetics for the young, educated girls of today. It showcased an array of traditional designs that have been mindfully transformed into contemporary styles for the women of today.
Julie’s passion towards textiles helped her create some innovative textures using bugle beads and sequence, sown together with golden threads and thin strands of silk fiber which have been intricately fastened by bullion stitches and French knots.
“I was really impressed with the designs of ‘Julie’ by Julie Shah. All the designs depict an intelligent fusion of vintage and urban styles. ‘ABJINI’ is infused with grace, elegance and grandeur. And it is perfect for the urban women” says, Prachi Desai
