ISKATE To Host India’s 14th National Ice Skating Championship

Gurugram, 25 September 2017: The Ice Skating Association of India will be conducting the National Ice Skating Championship in Figure Skating Discipline on 1st and 2nd October 2017 at iSKATE, Ambiance Mall, Gurugram. This will be the 14th edition of the prestigious Olympic sport in India with over 100 ice skaters participating from all over the country, representing different states.

The championship will encompass separate events for boys and girls in senior (Above 19 years), junior (17 -19 Years), advance novice (15-17 years), novice (10-15 years) and Juvenile (below 10 years) categories. The competitive events will culminate to an award ceremony to be held on 2nd October 2017. The winners will be felicitated with medals, certificates as well as cash prize.

The National Ice Skating Championship will be judged by Mr. Jagraj Singh Sahni, an experienced coach, mentor and professional ice skater Ms. Vasudeva Sharma, who represents India in roller and ice skating discipline. Also, to train and warm up the participating ice skaters prior to the National Championship, a training camp for figure skating will be held at iSKATE from the 25th to 30th September.

Located on the 6th floor of Ambience Mall, Gurugram, iSKATE has been visited by 17 lakh ice skating enthusiasts till date for leisure as well as professional training sessions in winter sports such as Ice Skating and Ice Hockey. The ability to play winter sports all year around at iSKATE has made it extremely popular among youth, families and corporates. The number of participating ice skaters from Telengana and Andhra Pradesh has also gone up by almost 40 % this year at the 14th edition of the Championship.
